The Old Ginn House is ideally situated whether you want to walk, cycle, golf (the Inn is just a short distance from a number of quality golf courses), fish, shop or tour the beautiful Western Lake District and visit the many attractions of the area.
Britain's Favourite View Wastwater also Bassenthwaite, Buttermere, Crummock, Loweswater, Ennerdale, and the highest peak in England Scafell Pike are all within a 20-30 minute drive.

Five miles to the east is the market town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, with its tree lined streets, galleries and shops.

The attractive port towns of Maryport and Whitehaven about 6 miles to the north and south of The Old Ginn House (respectively) afford a wealth of charm in their harbours and marinas.
The breathtaking views across the Solway Firth to Scotland make the coast road north of Maryport to Silloth a journey not to be missed.
On clear evenings look out for some of the most breathtaking sunsets likely to be seen anywhere in the UK.
